Day 4: QUÉBEC CITY How Sweet it is! Discover Canada’s only walled city with a Local Guide on a sightseeing tour. Until the British victory of 1759, Old Québec was the center of New France. Within its walls are Place d’Armes, Laval Seminary, and ancient Place Royale. Also, ride the funicular to Lower Town, where old-world houses line narrow streets along the St. Lawrence River, and see the historic Plains of Abraham.
Visit a locally owned [LF] Sugar Shack for a traditional sugar shack lunch including live musical entertainment. Explore the unique copper creations at the Albert Gilles Copper Art Studio and Museum. Continue to the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Shrine to see one of his greatest works of art, the hand-made copper main doors of the Basilica. Move on to Montmorency Falls Park for stunning views of a natural waterfall, the tallest in Québec and 30 m taller than Niagara Falls (weather permitting). Browse festive wooden kiosks, enjoy live musical entertainment, and soak up the holiday atmosphere.
